help me configure to debug step by step

Post by lugui2016 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 3:03 am

I use Ubuntu 16

I can build console PSVITA example files to pass them to psvita and everything works fine.

:?: :?: My problem is:

How to debug step by step, for example the F11 button in Visual Studio.NET?

For example the code debug_print of the examples PSVITA

#include <psp2/kernel/processmgr.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include "debugScreen.h"
#define printf psvDebugScreenPrintf

int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
int remain = 5;
psvDebugScreenInit();

printf("Welcome to the psvDebugScreen showcase !\n");

/* print some bg/fg colors */
const char* message = "Let's have some foreground/background colors !\n";
int modes[]={3,9,4,10}, c;
for(c = 0; message[c] != '\0'; c++)
printf("\e[%i%im%c", modes[(c/8)%4], c%8, message[c]);

/* reset fg/bg color back to default */
printf("\e[m");

/* \r demo using a countdown */
while(remain-->0){
printf("This sample will close in %i s...\r", remain);
sceKernelDelayThread(1000*1000);
}

/* print at specific col;row */
printf("\e[10;20HBye Bye");
sceKernelDelayThread(2*1000*1000);

sceKernelExitProcess(0);
return 0;
}

When attempting to debug step by step throws the following error:
fatal error: psp2/kernel/processmgr.h: There is no file or directory

I can see the results by passing the .vpk file to PSVITA
I want to modify the compile code, see the results on the pc but I can not do that.

Someone to help me configure to debug step by step. :idea: :idea:

You can't debug "step by step" on the Vita currently, you need to use printf statements and figure out what's wrong.
You can use debugnet if you want to receive logging directly on your computer.

;) thanks for the reply.

But I wanted to know if you can set up a development environment for PSVITA.

For example for ANDROID in ECLIPSE, you can configure the development environment in any S.O, edit code, debug and compile, if there is any error or where the fault is located, for example an undeclared variable.

Is there something similar for PSVITA?

For the moment I edit the code in a text editor and compile in the terminal.

Editing the code in a code editor and compiling from the command line is as close as you can get to an IDE experience.

If you want to reload your app seamlessly without manually transferring the VPK, I suggest you to look at PSP2SHELL.
