Vita GPU help?

Post by JoeRaptor » Sat Jan 21, 2017 8:16 pm

I keep hearing the GPU is actually not accessible, if this is this true how is the Vita's GPU overclockable?

I was wondering something similar. I also read that the GPU is not accessible.

But I thought the SceGxm module uses the GPU?

Anyone care to explain?

SceGxm is how to access the GPU. It's not accessible more directly through well-known APIs such as OpenGL, but saying it is not accessible at all is just wrong. Use SceGxm to have full hardware acceleration using the Vita's GPU.

I guess that you got your knowledge that Gxm was not accessible from this article, but it's factually incorrect.

It's accessible through SceGxm. In fact vita2d uses the GPU under the hood.
There are also some 3D and shader projects: https://github.com/xerpi/gxmfun, https://github.com/FirebirdTA01/Vita3D_Sample_cpp, https://github.com/Margoulin/Vita3D...

Some SceGxm documentation is available here: https://docs.vitasdk.org/group__SceGxmUser.html
